about 9 years ago – Mon, Mar 20, 2017 at 10:43:33 AM

Hello again! Just a short update to say all the folks who submitted missing physical goods notes have now been mailed out. There was one button-only that I am putting in with Miu's other project shipping.

Also for any of you who might have missed out on my La Brea: Lynx Edition Kickstarter project, I have a new preorder shop open if you'd like to snag one of those too!

La Brea Preorder Shop

Also now available are damaged Rios at discounted prices, for any figure painters or customizers out there. If you make one, be sure to share pics with me! :D I'd love to see what you do with them.

Final Cleanup and Thank You

Hello all!

Posting here to thank everyone again for their amazing support and patience during the learning experience that was this Kickstarter. I've heard from a few people who did not receive their items and I have some in messages that are unfortunately getting jumbled due to repeat questions, so I have created a Google Form to fill out instead.

If you are missing items, please fill this form out only ONCE. If duplicate info gets submitted it will delay processing. I will be unavailable to start checking the list and shipping the missing items until January, due to family and convention travel, so please only submit information that will not change until at least February 28.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfipMHnYjqknAi8o_wM6UjQJMFBEya_f9ST0a5agKSLmdRYWA/viewform

This form will remain open indefinitely until all outstanding/missing items have been taken care of. I repeat, if you are in the process of moving and do not yet know your new address, DO NOT fill out the form until you can confirm.

The convention and holiday season has been a crazy one. Hope you all are well and thank you again for following along with us here!

And now, in other news...
almost 10 years ago – Tue, Jul 05, 2016 at 06:31:21 PM

Hello everyone! Just a short update for today. According to the Backerkit/Fullfillrite logs it looks like pretty much all packages are out into the world, so woo for all physical rewards being shipped! There are a few stragglers who have not answered their surveys (if you're among them and need me to send you a survey link, send me a message) and I'm looking into the notes about boxes not received. Don't worry! I still have a limited amount of figures and goodies set aside for you Kickstarter peeps, and I am committed to making sure the items are received. I will be continuing to process notes from my Inbox as things go. We've had some rough times for this first half of 2016 that has kept work from progressing smoothly on the crowdfunders (particularly Miu's health has again dealt him an unexpected blow) but hoping to see his final part completed when he can. I have not forgotten about those who have inquired about repaint-body Rios, so more news on that to come as well.

In other news, I have launched my next Studio Cute figure project today! Some of you may be familiar with the original, highly-limited release of Michele Light's "La Brea" sabertooth kitty girl figurine from back in 2009. MIchele and I have teamed up again to produce another run of the same sculpt in a brand-new lynx-inspired coloration for 2016, with the factory that produced the original run! If you like prehistoric cats, tiny mammoths, or cute furry girl figures in general, I hope you pop by and take a look! We can use all the support we can get, and of course I wanted to give the folks who supported the Rio project the first whack at the limited tiers. :)

March 5 Update
over 10 years ago – Sat, Mar 05, 2016 at 06:30:48 PM

Cross-posting this to both the Rio Kickstarter and Ask Jam IGG:

Sorry for the delay in update. Miu and Co. are heading to Furry Fiesta down in Dallas next weekend so there's been lots going on.

On the IGG and Kickstarter end, all merch for the rewards are now at Backerkit (except the print version of Jam's Talent Show, which is not yet 100% complete; the sticker packs also aren't there yet but they're on their way). However, there's a small snag in the process as I made the mistake of not tagging the autographed books separately from the non-autographed books. As of right now the stock we have there is the autographed material with the non-autographed stuff packed and ready to ship out when that stock gets depleted, but the folks near the beginning of the response line who are slated to receive autographed books...a lot of them have the print version of Jam's Talent Show as part of their orders. The shipping system doesn't allow for split orders, so we can't ship most of the order and then Talent Show at a later date...it all has to ship together as a filled order, or it won't ship.

Also, as a side note, the system isn't allowing me to combine orders across different campaigns. I tried to look into it but it can't. Sorry to those who asked about it. I had been holding those orders to try to get them to work but they'll just be going out individually. As of right now that's the last seven that have to ship for this Kickstarter!*

So my current plan is to get the Jam's Talent Show done and printed as soon as Miu gets back from Furry Fiesta and can finish it up, and then be able to distribute the signed books to the early responders as I had originally intended. As of now I want to say it's less than a week or two from completion as Miu was attempting to get it done in time to show up for Furry Fiesta. However, if Jam's Talent Show is still not completed and off to press by April 1, I'll instead switch to queuing up physical orders that do not have Jam's Talent Show in them. While I would have liked to get the autographed books to the folks who answered first, I'd also just like to get the books and other rewards out to folks who have been waiting to get them. We have other crowdfunders planned but we decided not to start them up until these were completed first.

*I've been told by many sources that it's not uncommon to see some stragglers in the surveys, so I'm going to assume for the Rio Kickstarter that the four remaining backers who haven't answered are going to be this one's. :) I'll leave things open so no worries if they show up later. As usual, if there are issues with your order you can PM me here or email clubstripes AT gmail.com. I haven't deleted anything so unless something new has come up, assume the info you have sent will be addressed.

Bonus update for Rio backers
over 10 years ago – Sat, Mar 05, 2016 at 06:30:44 PM

Since I'd gotten a lot of questions about this, I finally got some photos together here to illustrate exactly what I was talking about in regards to the questions regarding factory flaws and OK vs NO (in my opinion, as I was sorting through the cartons).

A. Okay! Well, this looks reasonably alright. Still a little bothered that I asked for matte finish on the figures and they made them glossy, but whatever. More bothered by the fact that I gave them high-res eye and shirt images to use to make decals (how figure companies normally replicate the exact colors/designs of small details on figures), which they lied about their ability to make or something, who knows. But for hand-painted eyes attempting to replicate Miu's digital style, well...they're sorta okay. Phat or Megahouse, this is not, but neither was it in our budget to have that caliber of work.

B. I would have made this one an OK if it wasn't for that stupidly large plastic goober that is Right. On. His. Freaking. Face. I actually think the eyes look a little better on this one than on the first one.

C. Angry, dramatic Rio! Some of these guys like a little...face with their eyeliner I guess. X/ I hate just how many of these I have. Also it doesn't show in this picture but I think this one is also missing an earring. Missing earrings were annoyingly common, as were detached thumbs and occasionally even a detached torso. I'm in the process of removing earrings from the bad ones to attach to the otherwise OK ones, so they can still be sellable later down the line.

D. (internal screaming) ...A is looking nicer and nicer. ._.

In general I tended to default to passing a minor tiny mark on the body if the face was nicer, and I also ignored box smudges if the figure was still good. I made sure to only send out Rio figures from the OK boxes. However, if there was a big scratch or something on the body than it also got chucked into the NO boxes. B-D overall are reasons to fire your production company and go with a different one in the future! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

P.S. For those asking about it, I do plan to make the crappy ones available for sale at a discount, should the more crafts-minded out there want to try their hands at repainting or otherwise modifying 'em. I'd like to do one myself, too.
